Netherton Foundry Prospector Pan Lid
Description
Use this 12” spun iron lid to make your Netherton Foundry prospector pan even more versatile. Now you can use your prospector pan to cook casseroles and stews. The handle is also made of iron, making the lid completely oven-safe – just remember to use oven gloves before picking it up!
Before the first use, wash the lid with hot water. Do not use soap or detergent. Dry immediately with a towel, as leaving to air dry increases the chance of rusting. If you need to scrub, use a plastic bristled brush in hot soapy water, but avoid anything harsher. Avoid detergents completely. For best results, it is recommended that the lid is given an extra coat of seasoning oil before the first use.
The Netherton Foundry is a family company based in Shropshire – home of the 18th and 19th century ironmasters. Their pans are made from 99.1% pure iron and they use locally sourced materials wherever possible – the oak that makes the pan handles is British, and the flax seasoning oil comes from Sussex. Experienced local craftsmen use traditional manufacturing methods to bring you high quality cookware that gets better over time.
Do not place hot lids straight into cold water as this can cause warping or shattering. Do not store cast or spun iron pans with the lids on, as this can encourage rust.
