Netherton Foundry Copper Milk Pan, 6"

Description

Netherton Foundry’s copper milk pan is ideal for warming milk, simmering sauces and making scrambled eggs. Copper responds quickly to changes in power and heats up quickly and evenly, giving you greater control over your cooking temperatures. The tin lining is non-stick and protects the pan from corrosion and acidic foods.

The milk pan features a black iron handle and two pouring spouts so you can easily transfer gravy or custard into a serving jug.

Why choose a copper pan?

  • Copper is very heat responsive and will heat up and cool down quickly when you adjust the power on your hob for precision cooking.
  • Another benefit of the heat responsiveness is that since the pan heats up quickly, you will also use less energy.
  • Since copper is a very good conductor of heat, you will get very even heat distribution through the entire pan.
  • Tin is naturally a very non-stick material, and is easy to clean

Caring for copper pans:

  • Copper is not dishwasher safe, so should be washed in warm soapy water with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing.
  • Avoid scouring pads and metal utensils which will scratch the lining. Wood or silicone utensils are the best option.
  • Tin has a melting point of 232ºC / 450ºF, which means it’s important not to leave the pans on the hob with nothing in them. If you ensure there’s always something in the pan, it shouldn’t cause an issue in your day to day cooking. Searing steaks on a high temperature is not recommended however. Cast Iron or Stainless Steel pans would be better options for high temperature cooking instead.
  • If using in the oven, it is best not to go above 180ºC / 356ºF.
