Handmade Glazed Stoneware Tagine, 23cm
Description
This handmade glazed stoneware tagine is a stunning, oven-to-table stew pot for cooking and presenting the fragrant North African classic. Traditionally, tagines were used as portable ovens, letting people cook and carry food as they travel.
This small stoneware tagine will fit neatly in your kitchen and is perfect for a two-person serving.
Glazed in a rustic green hue, the stoneware pot not only looks beautiful, but is a practical piece of kitchen equipment too.
Using a stoneware tagine is great for:
- Slow-cooking meat and vegetables to perfection. The funnel-style lid lets steam rise, condense, then fall back. This keeps the ingredients moist and tender.
- Stoneware doesn’t affect the taste of the food, so the warm spices and rich flavours take centre stage.
Tagines were created for cooking on open fire, so you might need to use a heat diffuser when cooking on gas or electric hobs. When layering the ingredients for your tagine, it’s best to put a bed of onions first. This stops the meat from catching on the base and burning.
This handmade tagine measures 23cm and has 1 litre capacity.
Please note due to the artisanal nature of the product, there may be minor variations in the glaze, but this will not affect the quality of the product.
