Centonze Barocco Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Blue Flower Bottle, 500ml

Description

Centonze Barocco extra virgin olive oil is produced in Sicily. It’s made with organically grown Nocellara del Belice olives.

The olives are milled within hours of being picked for maximum freshness and flavour. The result is a vivid green, full-bodied olive oil. It has a spicy, herbaceous aroma.

On the palate, this Italian oil is spicy and beautifully balanced. You can detect notes of almond, artichoke and green tomato. Serve it in small bowls as a dip for crusty bread. This is a great way to showcase its fruity flavour.

Swirl Centonze organic olive oil over caponata and pasta alla Norma. It’s fantastic in dressings with garlic and fresh herbs. You can also use it as a finishing touch for soups and seafood dishes.

The oil is presented in a ceramic bottle with a blue flower design. The opaque material protects the oil from sunlight, preserving its taste and aroma.

The bottle is inspired by Sicilian ceramics. During the Baroque era, the city of Caltagirone became famous for its majolica. The potters decorated the ceramics with floral and geometric motifs. These designs are replicated on Centonze’s beautiful oil bottles.

Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.

About Centonze

Since 1953, the Centonze family has been producing exceptional olive oil in western Sicily’s Belice Valley, just minutes from the ancient ruins of Selinunte. Their 94-hectare estate, Case di Latomie, is home to nearly 19,000 olive trees — some of them centuries old — growing in mineral-rich soil once quarried by the Greeks.

Each olive is hand-harvested and pressed within hours, using organic, PDO and PGI-certified methods. The result? An award-winning oil with vivid green colour and bold, grassy flavour. In 2015, the grove was named a Slow Food Presidium, a rare honour that celebrates its low-impact farming and ancient native cultivars: Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla and Cerasuola.

When you choose Centonze, you’re not just buying olive oil. You’re tasting living Sicilian heritage — and supporting a family whose craft is rooted in the land, and refined over generations.
