Popping candy - or 'sparkling sugar' - is just that! It makes a fizz, crackle, pop sound and sensation in your mouth. The sugar crystals are carbonated, which fizz when they come in contact with moisture. Place a few pieces on your tongue to feel the popping sensation and hear the distinctive crackle - though make sure you don't try to secretly snack on pack whilst talking on the phone - the fizz is very loud!

Popping candy was once a playground sweet ('space dust') and is now frequently used in Michelin-starred kitchens. Try Heston Blumenthal’s exploding chocolate gateau, or use them to dust meringues, chocolate truffles and cover cake pops. Or drop into some still wine just before serving for instant 'champers'.

Chocolate coated popping candy is also available - perfect for chocolates with an 'exploding' filling, a chocolate mousse with a crackling surprise, or even for a fun ice cream topping.

Ingredients: sugar, glucose, cocoa butter, carbon dioxide (4%), lactose. Contains milk.
