Cast Iron Dutch Oven & Casserole

A cast iron Dutch oven or cast iron casserole dish are kitchen workhorses which are as durable as they are versatile. 

Crafted from heavy-duty cast iron, they excel in slow cooking, braising, baking, and frying. These pieces of cookware distribute heat evenly and retain it remarkably well, making them perfect for dishes that benefit from long, slow cooking.

These cooking dishes begin their lives as raw iron that is heated to 1,500°C in a furnace. The molten iron is then cast into sand moulds, which can withstand the extreme temperatures. They can then be enamelled or simply seasoned with oil. 

This traditional, artisanal method of creating a pan means that with proper care, they will last for generations. They bring together ancient and modern cooking methods – they are as at home on a campfire as they are on an induction hob.
