Description
Ras el hanout is a North African spice blend with a warm, spicy flavour. You will find it in many Moroccan recipes, from slow cooked tagines to fragrant couscous.
Ras el hanout combines earthy turmeric with nutmeg, cinnamon and fennel seeds. Chilli and black pepper bring the heat, while rose petals and lavender add a floral note.
This spice blend gives dishes an authentic Moroccan flavour. Made with organic ingredients, it can be used as a rub or added directly to soups and stews. Mix it with yoghurt, garlic and lemon juice to marinade sea bream or skewers of chicken.
Ras el hanout is a great flavour boost for vegetarian dishes. You can sprinkle it over roasted cauliflower or add it to stews with beans and lentils.
