Apicoltura Cazzola Multiflower Honey, 250g
Description
Apicoltura Cazzola Multiflower Honey is an Italian millefiori honey from Altedo, near Bologna. Millefiori means “a thousand flowers”, and that is the lovely thing about it. The flavour changes a little from year to year, depending on what is blooming and what the bees have found.
This is a deep amber honey with a full-bodied texture and a fresh, floral sweetness. It may crystallise over time, which is natural for pure honey. I like that about it. It reminds you this is not a factory-made flavour, repeated to the decimal point.
- 100% pure Italian multifloral honey
- Deep amber colour and floral sweetness
- Raw honey with no heat treatment
- Made near Bologna in Emilia-Romagna
- Natural crystallisation may occur over time
Try it spooned over thick yoghurt, fresh ricotta or a mild goat’s cheese. It is also very good in tea, on hot toast, or drizzled over a simple cake while it is still just warm.
Apicoltura Cazzola is a small family beekeeping firm with a real respect for bees, place and season. Their hives move with the blooms, so every jar carries a little of that year’s weather, flowers and countryside.
Meet the maker: Apicoltura Cazzola
Apicoltura Cazzola is a nomadic beekeeping producer in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna. The beekeepers move their 300+ hives with the seasons and the flowering. It is a very direct way of following the landscape. When the flowers change, the honey changes too. Meanwhile, the honey is left as natural as possible - it isn't heat treated for example. Apicoltura's mantra is simple, and rather lovely: “Why change what nature has already made perfectly.”
The range is wide; explore the different flavours of acacia, citrus, chestnut, cherry, dandelion or linden honey for example.
We love this range, because there is real pleasure in having a few different honeys open at home. One for toast. One for cheese. One for yoghurt. One that ends up being tasted from the spoon, or stirred into a hot drink.
