Description

Apicoltura Cazzola Lemon Honey is a bright, citrus-leaning honey from an Italian beekeeping farm near Bologna. It is the jar I’d reach for when breakfast needs a little lift, or when a cheese board wants something sweet but not heavy.

  • Italian honey from the Bologna countryside
  • Fresh lemon note with gentle sweetness
  • Made by a specialist beekeeping farm
  • Lovely with toast, yoghurt and cheese

Apicoltura Cazzola produces whole virgin raw honey without thermal treatment, and moves its hives with the seasons to follow different blooms. That kind of beekeeping gives this jar a nice sense of place. Not just sweet, but useful in the kitchen.

Try it stirred into warm tea, spooned over ricotta, or drizzled on buttered sourdough. It is also very good with Greek yoghurt, roasted nuts, or a sharp pecorino at the end of lunch.

Meet the maker: Apicoltura Cazzola

Apicoltura Cazzola is a nomadic beekeeping producer in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna. The beekeepers move their 300+ hives with the seasons and the flowering. It is a very direct way of following the landscape. When the flowers change, the honey changes too. Meanwhile, the honey is left as natural as possible - it isn't heat treated for example. Apicoltura's mantra is simple, and rather lovely: “Why change what nature has already made perfectly.”

The range is wide; explore the different flavours of acacia, citrus, chestnut, cherry, dandelion or linden honey for example.

We love this range, because there is real pleasure in having a few different honeys open at home. One for toast. One for cheese. One for yoghurt. One that ends up being tasted from the spoon, or stirred into a hot drink.
