Apicoltura Cazzola Bergamot Honey, 250g
Description
Apicoltura Cazzola Bergamot Honey is a raw Italian monofloral honey made from bergamot blossom nectar. It comes from Apicoltura Cazzola, a family beekeeping producer near Bologna in Emilia-Romagna, known for moving hives with the seasons to follow different blooms.
This is honey for people who like to taste where something comes from. Cazzola do not heat-treat their honey, so the natural aromas, enzymes and character of the nectar are left intact. Bergamot gives it a citrus link without turning it into anything sharp or perfumed. Think breakfast yoghurt, warm toast, ricotta, or a spoon stirred into tea once the water has cooled a little.
- Raw Italian honey from bergamot blossom
- Made by Apicoltura Cazzola near Bologna
- Not heat-treated or industrially processed
- Vegetarian, dairy free, low gluten ingredients
- 250g jar for breakfast and cheese boards
Try it with fresh cheese, thick Greek yoghurt, panna cotta, or a little spooned over roasted citrus.
Meet the maker: Apicoltura Cazzola
Apicoltura Cazzola is a nomadic beekeeping producer in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna. The beekeepers move their 300+ hives with the seasons and the flowering. It is a very direct way of following the landscape. When the flowers change, the honey changes too. Meanwhile, the honey is left as natural as possible - it isn't heat treated for example. Apicoltura's mantra is simple, and rather lovely: “Why change what nature has already made perfectly.”
The range is wide; explore the different flavours of acacia, citrus, chestnut, cherry, dandelion or linden honey for example.
We love this range, because there is real pleasure in having a few different honeys open at home. One for toast. One for cheese. One for yoghurt. One that ends up being tasted from the spoon, or stirred into a hot drink.
