Africa’s Finest pea aubergine (pea egg), also known as Turkey berry, is a slightly bitter berry that’s popular across Africa, but also in Thai cooking. 

As the name suggests, pea aubergines are very small aubergines, similar in size to a marble. 

How to use canned pea aubergines?

  • Make a spicy Ghanian fish soup to serve with rice or fufu
  • Make a Nigerian ‘pea egg’ sauce with mackerel to serve with yam
  • Add a bitter taste to green Thai curries, soups and stir-fries
  • Drain and crush the pea aubergines to create a vibrant dip
