Description

Frantoi Cutrera onion extra jam has a rich, caramelised flavour. Sicilian onions are cooked low and slow until they’re soft and sticky. A splash of vinegar adds subtle tang to balance the allium sweetness. 

‘Extra’ refers to the jam’s high onion content (95%). This is a thick, jammy preserve with intense onion flavour. Serve a generous spoonful with a cheese or charcuterie board. It’s a great match for goat’s cheese, sharp Cheddar and nutty Gruyère.

Produced in Sicily, this onion jam has a powerful flavour and aroma. You can serve it as a condiment, add it to a toastie or stir it through sauces. It adds depth and complexity to stews and gravies.

For a quick appetiser, spread onion jam onto circles of puff pastry. Top with goat’s cheese and bake until the pastry is golden. Add a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and serve with a crisp salad.
