Udon Noodles

Udon noodles are deliciously slurpable thick noodles traditionally used in Japanese cuisine. Serve them with curry for curry udon or use them in broths and yaki udona soy sauce stir-fried noodle dish with meat and vegetables. 

How are udon noodles made?

Udon noodles are usually made from wheat flour, but if you or a loved one is gluten-free, look no further! We also offer gluten-free udon noodles made from rice. Delicious in hot dishes, to add bulk to miso soups or served cold with a peanut and soy dressing. 

Which udon noodles should I buy?

Our extra wide noodles are perfect for chunky noodle salads. Our fine soba noodles are delicious chilled and served with soy-based dipping sauce, tsuyu, or served hot in mentsuyu, an intensely savoury noodle soup made from sake, mirin, soy sauce, kombu and bonito flakes. For something in between, we also offer Akagi dried hiyamugi noodles – a wheat noodle which sits between udon and somen noodles in size.
