Seaweed Salad

Seaweed salad, a popular dish in Japanese cuisine, is a blend of marine flavours, textures, and vibrant colours. It primarily features edible seaweeds, such as wakame, kombu, or nori, which are carefully to make a refreshing and nutritious salad. 

Often bought dried, it’s then rehydrated and dressed with a tangy dressing.

The seaweeds used in Japanese seaweed salad are an excellent source of essential minerals, vitamins, and dietary fibre. 

Their briny flavour is beautifully balanced by the crispness of fresh vegetables, as well as the umami, sweetness and sharpness of the dressing. 

This typically includes ingredients like soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sesame seeds.
