Taiwanese mochi with sesame cream make for the perfect morning snack or post-dinner nibble. These sugar-dusted glutinous rice balls have a hidden red bean and sesame cream for a wonderful concoction of sweet, nutty flavours. 

Mochi have a pillowy-soft, chewy texture that’s almost a cross between marshmallow and bubblegum. These rice cake sweets are especially popular in Taiwan and Japan. The process of making mochi from scratch involves multiple steps, from making a red bean paste to preparing the dough and moulding into the round shape.
