Description

Mung beans are a small green bean with a creamy, nutty flavour. They are used widely in India in curries and mung dal (or moong dal). Use the mung beans to make a pesarattu dosa by blending soaked beans with spices and chilli to make a batter, then frying as a thin and crispy pancake. 

Mung beans can also be added to casseroles and stews. To cook, soak the beans in water for 12 hours, then rinse and drain. Cover with fresh water, bring to the boil and simmer for 15-20 mins or until tender. Do not eat raw.
