Alpenzu Chestnut Flour
Description
Use Alpenzu’s chestnut flour to make cakes, pastry and gluten-free crêpes. Made from dried chestnuts, this finely ground flour has a nutty and slightly sweet flavour that works well in both sweet and savoury dishes. Ideal for baking, it can be used to make brownies, dark chocolate cakes, muffins and banana bread. In Italy, chestnut flour is used to make castagnaccio, a traditional cake often topped with pine nuts or studded with dried fruit.
Chestnut flour is great for making pasta, adding a mellow nutty flavour to gnocchi and pappardelle. Toss your cooked pasta with a simple sage butter or a creamy mushroom sauce. For an indulgent autumnal supper, try our recipe for chestnut and artichoke ravioli.
The chestnut flour is available in two sizes:
- 250g
- 1kg
