Japanese omelettes (Tamagoyaki) are rolled as they are fried, to form a neat cylinder.  This special coated iron pan was developed specifically for Tamagoyaki, which cannot be made without one. Hashi cooking chocksticks are traditionally used alongside the pan to help roll the omelettes.
