Description

Sweet tigernut & chilli sauce is a unique African twist on popular sweet chilli sauce. Unlike many of its Thai counterparts, this sweet chilli sauce packs some serious heat!

Cayenne and African birdseye chillies give this sauce an eye-watering chilli kick. The sweetness comes from demerara sugar, but also tigernut extract. Tigernuts are not, technically speaking, a nut. They’re small, underground-growing tubers of the yellow nutsedge plant. Tigernuts have a sweet, creamy, nutty flavour that helps to balance the fiery chillies in this sauce.

Sweet tigernut & chilli sauce is a great dip for chicken and prawns. Also mix it into marinades for almost anything – as long as you like it hot! You can tone down the heat by stirring the sauce through mayonnaise. This is a fantastic dip for vegetable crudités and chicken skewers, and it even works as a dressing for a crab salad. Or use the African sweet chilli sauce as a glaze on chicken wings, spare ribs, or fish.

Bim’s Kitchen are a small family business based in Wales. Husband and wife team James ‘Bim’ and Nicola Adedeji hand make all their condiments, sauces and spreads in small batches. They use a range of unique ingredients to bring authentic African flavours to the UK.
