Shaoxing Rice Cooking Wine (Chiew) 500ml


Shaoxing rice cooking wine is made from fermented rice and is also known as Shao Hsing, or shaoshing. It has a rich sherry-like flavour that is both sharp and sweet. Use it in marinades, sauces and soups, or to deglaze a pan after searing meat or vegetables.

It is a key flavour in many Chinese dishes, including 'Chairman Mao's Red Braised Pork' and Fuchsia Dunlop’s recipe for Chinese chicken and ginger.

This wine is specifically for cooking - the salt will stop you from wanting to drink it! But for an extra special end to a Chinese meal, serve a small glass of Shaoxing Wine - 5 Year Aged or Shaoxing Rice Wine - 10 Year Aged.
