Manfood Adobo wing sauce is your shortcut to Filipino-style meals. Cider vinegar gives the sauce a sweet sharpness, while tomato, garlic and soy sauce bring umami depth. The sauce has a building heat from cayenne pepper and ginger.
Deep fry or oven cook chicken wings and slather in the adobo wing sauce. Then finish in the oven to get seriously sticky and serve with homemade coleslaw.
The sauce is inspired by Filipino adobo sauce. It’s traditionally made with vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and black peppercorns.
For a Manfood take on a traditional Filipino dish, thin the sauce with a little more soy sauce and lime juice. Use to marinate cubes of chicken or pork or whole prawns. Leave in the fridge for around 3 hours. Then brown the meat or prawns in a pan with a little oil. Add the marinade and simmer until the meat is cooked and the sauce has thickened. Serve with steamed rice.
Manfood was started by friends Jon Honeyball and Andre Dang. When Jon complained about the lack of properly crisp and chunky pickles, Andre took up the challenge of creating the perfect pickle. The first success became Manfood’s chunky piccalilli. Andre soon turned his hand to classics like bread & butter pickles and mango chutney. The result is a range of pickles, chutneys, sauces and jellies that are big on flavour and texture. Simply grab a Manfood jar and enjoy with most things you’ll find in your fridge.
