This chestnut purée is made exclusively from Ardèche chestnuts, which have been awarded 'AOC', or 'controlled designation of origin' status in France.
The cooked chestnuts are blended with a little water to make a purée which works well in savoury dishes - try adding some to a chicken velouté, or a stuffing for a Sunday roast. The chestnut purée makes a great dip when mixed with crushed garlic, crème fraîche, salt and pepper and served with crunchy bread.
Sabaton have been producing chestnut purée since 1907, establishing themselves as firm favourites in the Ardèche region of France.
