Casa Gerardo (50 Steps of Contemporary Cuisine) brings together almost 135 years of history in 50 culinary milestones. Each milestone, or step, focuses on an ingredient, a concept, and a way of understanding cooking as well as dining. "I think this will be important, not only for Casa Gerardo, but also for Spanish cuisine, which is enjoying one of its brightest moments ever," said Pedro Morán.
Pedro and Marcos Morán represent the fourth and the fifth generation at the helm of Casa Gerardo, a family restaurant in Prendes, Asturias. The restaurant was founded in 1882 and currently holds one Michelin star. The team at Casa Gerardo work to tell the story of Asturian culinary tradition in every dish while, at the same time, reinventing it. It is their way of contributing to contemporary cooking, as well as helping it to progress.
The book features both Spanish and English text with stunning photography from Casa Gerardo.
