Café Tasse are a family run business, currently headed by Andrea Gembler and her husband Philippe. They use a blend of cocoa beans from Africa and South America. They combine the cocoa beans with pure cocoa butter for chocolate with a silky-smooth texture that slowly melts in the mouth.
Café Tasse has its origins in Brussels in 1989. The founder was enjoying an espresso, but he couldn’t stop thinking how a good piece of chocolate would complete the experience. The founder couldn’t find anything that lived up to his expectations, so he ended up creating his own. And the now-famous individual chocolate squares called ‘Neapolitan’ were born. The style was so popular it was emulated by chocolate makers all over the country, and you’ll now see chocolate Neapolitans served with coffee in cafes throughout Belgium.
