Bulgur wheat, also known as bulghur wheat, burghal or bulgar, is a popular grain in Middle Eastern cuisine. Made from chopped and parboiled wheat, it is very quick to cook, and can be used just like cous cous. Bulgur wheat is often seen as a healthier substitute as it retains fibre during processing and is still classed as 'wholegrain'.
The cooked bulgur wheat is delicious in salads, such as tabbouleh - tossed with chopped parsley, tomatoes, a little mint and a squeeze of lemon juice. It is also a famous ingredient in the small roasted meat appetiser kibbeh along with finely sliced onion, minced meat and spices.
Ingredients: organic bulgur wheat.
Allergy Advice: for allergens, see ingredients listed in bold. Packed in an environment that handles nuts, peanuts, sesame, gluten, soya, milk & sulphured fruit.
