Attilio Babbi founded the business in Cesena in 1952, making cones, wafers and ingredients for artisan gelato makers. When winter brought a slower pace, he turned his attention to confectionery alongside the gelato business. The result was Viennesi and Waferini: the wafer specialities that launched Babbi’s sweet-making venture in 1958. Now based in Bertinoro, in Italy’s Romagna region, Babbi remains a family business spanning four generations.
