With a driven and sparky team, Sous Chef is at the leading edge of food trends and fast becoming the “go to” site for adventurous home cooks and chefs. We have a warehouse filled with some of the world’s most exciting ingredients – sourcing products from 20+ countries, enjoy regular tastings, and travelling worldwide – to bring customers inspiration and flavours that they’ve never experienced before.

The Challenge

With 400,000+ happy customers and strong growth ambitions, the Head of Growth / Ecommerce Manager will hit the ground running to double revenue over the next 3 years, essential to reach sustainable scale for the brilliant team we’re building.

You will need to quickly master and optimise our existing marketing mix, as well as bringing a test-and-learn mindset to drive continuous improvement. You’ll obsess about the customer and lifetime value, and work relentlessly to create a brand that delivers an extraordinary experience.

The Candidate

You have 5+ years of marketing experience and 2+ years of B2C e-commerce; the digital landscape is your native environment. Whether you come from e-commerce retail or agency-side, you’ll have a proven track record of driving performance across the full spectrum of online channels: SEO, paid search, CRM, social and more.

You’re an independent thinker: using your own data-driven insights to spot opportunities, and quickly act on them. You are happy taking a hands on approach to growth – but also excited to manage agencies and develop junior team members.

The Role

The role will include the following:

  • Create and implement marketing strategies, plus spend allocation spend to deliver budget
  • Oversee website management, including product lifecycle and CMS (on Shopify)
  • Optimise website and other pages for speed, SEO and/or conversion
  • Create, plan and implement marketing campaigns and funnels
  • Ensure all digital technology and platforms have the relevant tracking and analytics tools
  • Review campaigns/funnels using quantitative and qualitative metrics and identify opportunities for improvement through optimization techniques. e.g. A/B Split testing
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the email marketing systems – including broadcast and automated emails, providing email segmentation and list analysis a required
  • Oversee PPC and traffic management through agencies – including ad strategy, creation, placement and results
  • Oversee the Content and Social strategy – this includes blogs, vlogs, social posts to identified channels. Monitor engagement, reach and results using metrics.
  • Maintain and oversee the lead generation scorecard for the business
  • Ensure company brand values are articulated and promoted appropriately across all mediums
