The gourmet egg cutter cleanly slices the top off a boiled egg. It leaves the shell in a sharp, clean line – not a jagged edge or flaky bit of shell in sight.

Gourmet egg cutters work in a single movement, and are the only way to ensure professional kitchen-precision. Use in the kitchen, or even at the table, encouraging diners to interact by ‘decapitating’ their own egg.

To use, rest egg in an egg cup. Place the domed cutting blade on top of the egg, and hold in place with one hand. Pull up the silver ball with the other hand, and release. The impact of the ball falling creates a hairline crack around the egg, so you can peel away the shell. It can take a few eggs to get the hang of it!

With care you can even use the egg cutter on raw eggs. Once you’ve used the egg in cooking, gently rinse and dry the shells. Then use them as a creative garnish or decoration. The empty egg shells are also great moulds – fill with chocolate mousse or jelly, and use a little sugar syrup to carefully stick the top part of the shell back on. These are a great surprise treat during Easter!
