Christmas isn’t all about turkey and trimmings, it’s a time to get your whisk at the ready and rustle up indulgent cakes, bakes and biscuits.

We’ve chosen four baking recipes to delve into this festive season, whether you’re after a pâtisserie challenge with our eggnog-inspired puff pastry tart, or some fruity Italian biscuits to serve alongside coffee (or mulled wine!).

Hazelnut Yule Log Recipe

Yule Log

Yule log is a traditional dessert served during the Christmas season, and is particularly popular in France and Belgium. The sweet, genoise sponge cake roulade is decorated with a chocolate ganache, which, when you run a fork through, gives a tree bark effect.

Here, we’ve given the classic bake a nutty twist by using hazelnut paste and crispy feuilletine flakes for added texture. Try our hazelnut yule log recipe here.

Christmas Millefeuille Recipe

For this Christmas bake, we’ve combined nutmeg, cloves and brandy to create an eggnog-inspired cream. This rich cream is then layered between sheets of puff pastry, with a chocolate cream, and topped with chocolate truffle drops.

The pastry cream can be made a day in advance, but when it comes to assembling, this should be done just before serving so the pastry stays flaky and crisp. Try our Christmas millefeuille recipe here.

Sour Cherry and Orange Biscotti Recipe

Sour Cherry & Orange Biscotti

Sour cherry and orange biscotti are the perfect bake to have on standby over the Christmas period. We’ve flavoured the crunchy Italian biscuits with sour morello cherries, zingy orange zest and crunchy blanched almonds.

Once you’ve baked your batch of biscotti, they will keep for up to 3 weeks, ideal for gifting to friends and family, or serving alongside impromptu coffees. Try our fruity biscotti recipe here.

Christmas Pudding Tea Cakes Recipe

Fun to look at and delicious to eat, these Christmas pudding tea cakes make for an impressive Christmas bake. We’ve created a Christmas pudding flavoured marshmallow to put a festive spin on the traditional tea cake, and decorated with dried barberries and crystallised mint leaves.

These tea cakes are wonderful served with a cup of tea in the run up to Christmas, or as individual desserts on the big day. Try our Christmas pudding tea cake recipe here.
