Use the 2-piece lamb butter mould to make a lamb out of butter – part of a traditional Easter table in Polish, Russian and Slovenian Catholic households.

Each side of the mould is carved with half of the lamb. Press 125g of softened butter into one half, ensuring it sticks up well above the surface of the mould. Attach the other half of the mould with the wooden pegs, and use a spatula or butter knife to flatten the butter at the opening of the mould.

Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve. Place the mould on a plate, with the opening facing downwards. Gently pull the halves of the mould apart. Decorate your butter lamb with peppercorns for the eyes and a red ribbon around its neck. A white banner with a red cross is traditionally placed on the back of the lamb, attached with a toothpick.

Use the maple wood butter knife to press the butter in the mould, and to help lever it out once it’s set.

The lamb butter mould can shape 125g of butter and is made from maple wood.

Maple wood is also odourless, non-toxic, highly durable, and can tolerate gentle washing after use. Maple is therefore a popular wood choice for kitchen utensils.

Hand wash only.
