Description

These stone-glazed cups are used to make the savoury, Japanese egg-custard dish, chawanmushi. The traditional appetizer steams cooked chicken and mushrooms or prawns and green onion with a dashi and egg mixture.

As well as making this delicate custard, you can separate the bowls and use the lids to serve pickles, and use the base for little soups or ices.
