Sakura sencha green tea with cherry blossom is an uplifting taste of spring.
Sencha is the most popular green tea in Japan. The tea leaves are gently steamed for around 30 seconds, then rolled into thin needle shapes to preserve the fresh, herbal aromas.
Cherry blossoms, or sakura, are the pale pink flowers of Japanese cherry trees. They are a favourite flavouring and decoration for both sweet and savoury dishes. In fact, cherry blossoms are so revered in Japan that they are one of the country’s national flowers. They have a subtle, floral sweetness that is the perfect partner to green tea.
To serve, use one teaspoon per person of the sakura sencha and put in a teapot. Add boiled water that’s cooled to around 80°C, and leave to steep for 2-3 minutes. Pour into Japanese tea cups and enjoy a moment of tranquillity.
Ingredients: organic green tea (80%), candied sakura leaves (19%), sakura flowers (1%).
