Villa Massa Limoncello is a 'real' Limoncello of Sorrento, produced using lemons grown only in the towns of the Sorrentine Peninsular, and the Island of Capri, in Southern Italy. The lemons have been grown in the area for centuries, and thanks to the Mediterranean climate of the Sorreto-Amalfi coast, the peel grows thick and fragrant, rich in essential oils - which give the drink its unique flavour. The limoncello (also known as Limoncino) is made by expertly blending these lemons, along with sugar and alcohol to make a sweet aromatic lemon liqueur.
Limoncello is most enjoyed in Campania served cold as a digestif after dinner. Villa Massa limoncello is also a great aperitif mixed with tonic water or champagne, or as dessert, drizzled over ice cream and fruit salads.
